Getting Started
Below are some frequently asked questions
1.1 Can I play WPT HOME for free?
Yes. You can try different Texas Hold'em games and modes in WPT HOME for free. You can also create tables and invite friends to play at no cost.
1.2 What features and game modes are available in WPT HOME?
WPT HOME offers a variety of table themes, animations, and social features. In addition to classic Texas Hold'em, the game also includes SNG, MTT, AOF, PLO, SD6+, Squid Go Mode, and other entertainment features.
1.3 How do I create or link an account to start playing?
You can start playing as a guest, or create an account using your email address, phone number, or username. You can also link a third-party login method such as Apple ID, Google, Discord, or LINE. For better account security and data retention, we recommend linking at least one login method.
1.4 On which platforms can I play WPT HOME?
WPT HOME is available in web browsers on desktop and mobile devices, and also has dedicated Android and iOS clients.
1.5 Can I use the same account on different devices?
Yes. Your account data will sync across devices as long as you sign in using the same account or login method. Repeated logins from multiple devices within a short period may trigger a security check, so we recommend using your main devices consistently.
1.6 Where can I download the game?
You can download the game from the official website, Google Play, or the App Store. If the download fails, please check your network connection and device OS version, or contact support at support@wpthome.com.
1.7 Can I update my personal information at any time?
Yes. You can update your editable profile information at any time in [Profile].
2.1 I am a beginner. What are the rules of Texas Hold'em?
In Texas Hold'em, each player receives 2 hole cards, and 5 community cards are revealed in stages. Players make the best possible 5-card hand using any combination of their 2 hole cards and the 5 community cards.
The main stages of a hand are:
- Preflop
- Flop
- Turn
- River
- Showdown
2.2 What do the different table positions mean in Texas Hold'em?
Table position affects the order of action and can influence strategy. Common positions include the Dealer (Button), Small Blind (SB), Big Blind (BB), and Under the Gun (UTG). In general, players who act later in the betting round have more information than players who act earlier. After each hand, the Dealer position moves clockwise.
2.3 What are the hand rankings in Texas Hold'em?
From highest to lowest, standard Texas Hold'em hand rankings are:
- Royal Flush
- Straight Flush
- Four of a Kind
- Full House
- Flush
- Straight
- Three of a Kind
- Two Pair
- One Pair
- High Card
2.4 What are blinds?
Blinds are forced bets posted before each hand begins, usually by the Small Blind (SB) and Big Blind (BB). They help create action and build the pot.
2.5 What is a straddle? How do I turn it on or off?
A straddle is an optional blind bet made before the cards are dealt, usually for twice the Big Blind. It increases the size of the pot and speeds up the action. When creating a game, you can turn this option on or off in [Game Settings]. It is off by default.
3.1 What game modes are available?
WPT HOME currently supports the following modes:
- Squid Go Mode
- NLHE
- PLO
- SD6+
- SNG
- AOF
- MTT
3.2 What is Squid Go Mode?
Squid Go Mode is a special game mode with unique marker and settlement rules. It includes two sub-modes: Classic Mode and Squid Hunt.
In Classic Mode, players may receive only one Squid Marker during the game. The only player without a Marker pays penalties to those who have one.
In Squid Hunt, players may receive more than one Squid Marker during the game. When all Markers are distributed, or only one player is left without a Marker, the game concludes, and players without a Marker pay penalties to those who have at least one.
Please refer to the in-game rules for the exact details of each sub-mode.
3.3 What is NLHE?
NLHE stands for No-Limit Texas Hold'em, the standard form of Texas Hold'em. Each player receives 2 hole cards, and 5 community cards are revealed over the course of the hand. Players use these cards to make the best possible hand and make betting decisions based on strategy.
3.4 What is PLO?
PLO stands for Pot-Limit Omaha. It is similar to Texas Hold'em, but players receive 4 hole cards instead of 2. In some game types, players may receive 5 or 6 hole cards. To make a valid hand, you must use exactly 2 hole cards and 3 community cards.
3.5 What is SD6+?
SD6+, or Short Deck, is a Texas Hold'em variant played with a 36-card deck, with cards 2 through 5 removed. The smaller deck increases the frequency of strong hands and speeds up the game. Please note that hand rankings may differ from standard Texas Hold'em. In this mode, a flush beats a full house.
3.6 What is SNG?
SNG stands for Sit & Go. It is an on-demand tournament mode based on Texas Hold'em. It starts automatically once enough players have joined, without a scheduled start time. All players begin with the same chip stack, and the tournament continues until the final
3.7 What is AOF?
AOF stands for All-in or Fold. It is a simplified mode based on Texas Hold'em. In each round, players can only choose to go all-in or fold. The pace is faster and the decision-making is more direct.
3.8 What is MTT?
MTT stands for Multi-Table Tournament. Players start with equal chip stacks at multiple tables. As players are eliminated, the remaining players are moved to fewer tables until the final table is reached. Blinds increase at set intervals, and final standings are determined by the order of elimination.
